Instagram auto reply message examples for sales, support, and bookings

Copy-ready Instagram auto reply examples for DMs, comments, story replies, support questions, bookings, lead magnets, and product links.

Most Instagram auto replies fail because they try to do too much.

The person asked for a link, price, booking slot, guide, code, or answer. The reply should handle that one job first. You can qualify the lead later. You can pitch later. If the first message feels like a brochure, people stop replying.

Use these examples as starting points. Change the words so they sound like your brand.

Quick rules before you copy a template

Meta's Instagram Messaging API is built around messages between an Instagram professional account and customers. Meta also documents private replies for Instagram comments, where a business can send one private reply after a user comments on eligible content.

That means your auto replies should be based on real user action:

  1. They commented.
  2. They replied to a story.
  3. They messaged first.
  4. They asked for something specific.

Do not use automation to cold-message people who never engaged. That is where useful automation turns into spam.

Comment-to-link reply

Use this when the caption asks people to comment "link", "guide", "list", or another clear keyword.

Hey, here is the link you asked for: [link]

If you want the shorter version, reply "quick" and I will send the main steps.

Why it works: the first line delivers the promise. The second line gives a simple path for people who want help but do not want a long page.

Price question reply

Use this when people comment "price?", "cost?", "how much?", or similar words.

Hey, thanks for asking. Prices start at [price/range].

Want me to send the best option for you? Reply with what you need: [option A], [option B], or [option C].

This avoids hiding the price behind a fake conversation. People who are serious will still answer.

Booking reply

Use this for salons, trainers, studios, clinics, decorators, consultants, and local services.

I can help with that. Book here: [booking link]

If you are not sure which slot or service to pick, reply with what you need and your preferred day.

The booking link handles people ready to act. The second line catches people who need a little help before choosing.

Lead magnet reply

Use this when a post promises a checklist, PDF, calculator, swipe file, mini-course, or template.

Here is the [resource name]: [link]

Start with page [X] if you want the fastest win.

Add one useful instruction. It makes the DM feel like help, not a download receipt.

Product recommendation reply

Use this for ecommerce, digital products, services, and bundles.

I can point you to the right one.

Are you buying for [use case A] or [use case B]?

Do not send five product links at once. Ask one sorting question, then send the right product.

Customer support reply

Use this when people ask about shipping, access, login, refunds, sizing, appointment changes, or delivery.

Got it. I can help route this.

Reply with your order email or booking name, and tell me the issue in one line.

For private information, keep the request narrow. Do not ask people to send payment details, passwords, full addresses, or sensitive documents inside Instagram.

Story reply automation

Story replies feel more personal than comments, so the message should be lighter.

Saw your reply. Want the details or the short version?

Reply "details" or "short".

This works because the user already reacted. You do not need a hard pitch in the first message.

Follow-up reply

Use follow-ups carefully. A good follow-up helps the person finish the thing they already asked for.

Quick check. Did you want help choosing between [option A] and [option B]?

Avoid "bumping this to the top of your inbox" style copy. Everyone knows what it is.

What to avoid

Do not send a giant first message.

Do not pretend the message is manual.

Do not bury the link after three paragraphs.

Do not ask five questions at once.

Do not turn every comment into a sales pitch.

The safest pattern is simple: deliver what they asked for, then ask one useful question.

How RapidDM fits

RapidDM is built for Instagram-first workflows: comment triggers, story replies, follow-to-continue flows, product carousels, voice DMs, and follow-ups. The message still matters. The tool only helps if the first reply is clear.

Start with RapidDM if you already know what people ask for in your comments and DMs.
