A Comment-to-DM funnel only works if viewers type your trigger word in the comments and actually find the message that lands in their inbox.
Two preventable mistakes hurt conversion rates on automated Reels:
- Choosing a trigger keyword that mobile autocorrect changes mid-type, such as brand acronyms or multi-word phrases.
- Posting the exact same public comment reply (
"Sent!") dozens of times in an hour, which trips Instagram's repetitive-comment filter.
Use the generator above to build a four-part script pack for your next Reel or carousel post, then check the table below when picking your trigger keyword.
How to choose a trigger keyword that converts
| Keyword type | Examples | Typical comment rate | Why it works or fails |
|---|---|---|---|
| Concrete noun (4–6 letters) | GUIDE, LINKS, RECIPE, SYSTEM | 1.2% – 2.8% | Easy to remember while watching a video and never altered by mobile autocorrect. |
| Discount or offer code | VIP20, BUNDLE, DROP | 1.0% – 2.1% | Signals an immediate transactional benefit for e-commerce shoppers. |
| Made-up brand word | RAPIDIFY, GROWTHX | 0.2% – 0.5% | iOS and Android autocorrect replace the word right as the viewer hits post. |
| Multi-word phrase | SEND ME THE PDF | Under 0.2% | Too much typing effort on a phone keyboard. |
Why you should load at least 4 public comment reply variations
When RapidDM sends a Private Reply DM, it can also post a public reply right beneath the viewer's comment (for example, "Just sent it to your DMs!"). Public replies do two useful jobs:
- They remind the commenter to check their Instagram inbox right away, which matters when they do not follow you yet and the message lands inside Message Requests.
- They double the visible comment count on your Reel, signaling active discussion in the thread.
Meta's anti-spam system watches for accounts that post identical comment replies in rapid succession. Loading four or five natural reply variations into your RapidDM campaign — combined with a randomized 2 to 5 second reply delay — keeps your public replies looking human even on busy posts.
